Roswell, New Mexico (Dates: 2372, 1947)
An engine malfunction aboard a shuttle owned by Quark of Deep Space Nine caused a temporal anomaly which sent the ship to crash in the year 1947 on Earth in Roswell, New Mexico. They were apprehended by United States military officials, and Quark attempted to negotiate a business transaction to sell advanced technology to the “Australians.” However, intervention by DS9 security officer Odo prevented any major change to the timeline, and the Ferengi were able to escape with the assistance of two civilian officials at the base.
The DTI concluded that no major changes in the timeline resulted from this incident. In fact, historical records indicate that a “UFO” was rumored to have landed in Roswell at the exact same time as the Ferengi ship was there.
Mr. Quark was issued a citation by the DTI for attempting to alter historical events. He was fined 10 bars of gold-pressed latinum and released.
